Oink

April 30, 2008

Hey, yeah, let’s preach fiscal sanity and then ask for BILLIONS in pork spending. How do you spin THIS one, Hillary?

Finally

April 30, 2008

John Cole, as usual, makes some great points in his own passionate way.

All the talking heads assured me he had to do this, and now he has. I am not sure why it was necessary, as it was pretty clear to me when listening to Wright the past few days that he was not speaking for Obama, but such is the guilt-by-association bullshit of the media.
<snip>
And so it is with Jeremiah Wright. Is he a jerk? I don’t think there is any argument to be made that lately he hasn’t in fact been one big, giant, puckered asshole. His ego tour the past few days was all about him, but so what? I blame the media as much as I blame him. Is it an offensive notion that the government created aids? Absolutely, but I refuse to get all bent out of shape about it, because the government that tortures people and ran the Tuskegee experiment and wiretapped MLK for years opens itself up to crazy accusations like that.

So Jeremiah Wright has acted like a jackass the past few days, and he may have acted supremely selfishly by hurting Obama’s electoral chances. Regardless, he may be a flawed man, but that does not undo all the good he has done over the years. I don’t know of any bloggers with thirty years of service to the poor and the indigent. Get back to me when Chris Matthews feeds hungry people for three decades. And even with all his flaws, Jeremiah Wright did give us this quality bit of entertainment, and I have to admit to enjoying someone treat the media with the respect they deserve (which is to be mocked, have eyes rolled at them, and taunted as Wright did yesterday at the Press Club).

I do so hope that O’Reilly brings up the Weathermen, the Chinese in all their many influences, Whitewater, Vince Foster, Puerto Rican Terrorists, the Clinton Library and Donor List, and of course foreign strongmen.  Because that is how freaking relevant Wright should have been. Oh, and there is also Watergate. That’s always fun! Dig, Bill, dig!

Clinton ‘Misremembers’ Again

April 30, 2008

So, Clinton once again ‘misremembers’ the recent past. Here is Hillary, in her new Indiana ad (from Second Hand Conjecture):

“Right here over 200 Hoosiers built parts that guided our military’s smart bombs to their targets.
They were good jobs, but now, they’re gone to China.
And now America’s defense relies on Chinese spare parts.
George Bush could have stopped it, but he didn’t.
As your president, I will fight to keep good jobs here, and to turn this economy around.
I’m Hillary Clinton and I approve this message because American workers should build America’s defense.”

Except, you know, it was Bill Clinton who paved the way for this plant to close.

David Sirota:

“Clinton is certainly right that it is a tragedy that 200 American jobs were killed in a corporate deal that also exported sensitive military technology to China. But she forgets to mention that it wasn’t George Bush who was in the key position to stop it — it was Bill Clinton.

Back in 1995, a Chinese consortium, which included two Chinese state-owned companies, made a bid to take over Magnequench. Because the company makes key parts for smart bombs, the takeover had to be approved by the Clinton administration’s Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States. Despite the national security and economic problems with selling off such critical manufacturing capacity to the Chinese — and despite the knowledge that such a deal would likely end in a domestic mass layoff — the Clinton administration approved the deal. This same deal — not surprisingly — paved the way for those 200 Indiana jobs and that sensitive military technology to be shipped to China.”

And as to the whole criticism of American military defense technology being in the hands of the Chinese, well, John McCain cannot wait to bring that up too.

Taylor Marsh: Silly Person

April 28, 2008

Taylor Marsh comments rather idiotically on Obama and Fox:

Meanwhile, as everyone worries about the African American vote, how about someone paying attention to the droves of women and Clinton voters who will side with McCain if Obama’s the nominee? Hello? Anybody?

Now, all of this political maneuvering and making his blogger base look like children doesn’t mean Senator Obama won’t be the nominee, given the math and the general spinelessness of Democrats to prefer rules over winning.

Once again, Taylor and her friends suggest African American voters and Obama supporters DO NOT MATTER, and that Clinton can win without them. It’s good to see Marsh throwing THE MOST LOYAL BASE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY FOR 60 YEARS under the bus. Look, even Marsh admits that the so-called ‘working class white’ is not always loyal to the party. And yet, these people are more important than the most loyal base of the party? And guess what, Marsh: Obama has a whole bunch of female supporters too!

And this bit: ‘general spineless of Democrats to prefer rules over winning.’ Wow. Ethics really matter to this woman, don’t they? Winning at all costs, rewarding someone for breaking the rules. How very..Republican..of her. Oh, and Taylor. About those rules…

Taylor, why are you throwing away all integrity? How dare you of all people mock Obama’s appearance on Fox News. You! When your own commenters sing the praises of O’Reilly and Hannity! HYPOCRITE!

On Electability

April 27, 2008

Hertzberg at the New Yorker writes (emphasis mine):

My point is that Hillary Clinton has not, in fact, survived the worst that the Republican attack machine (and its pilotless drones online and on talk radio) can dish out. We will learn what the worst really means if she is nominated. The Commie law firm will be only the beginning. Many tempting targets—from Bill’s little-examined fund-raising and business activities during the past seven years to the prospect of his hanging around the White House in some as yet undefined role for another four or eight years to whatever leftovers from the Clinton “scandals” of the nineteen-nineties can be retrieved from the dumpster and reheated—remain to be machine-gunned. The whole Clinton marital soap opera, obviously off limits within the Democratic fold, will offer ample material for what Obama calls “distractions.” To take the most obvious example, the former President’s social life since leaving the White House will become, if not “fair game,” big game—and some of these right-wing dirtbags are already hiring bearers and trying on pith helmets for the safari. Is this a “there” where the Democratic Party really wants to go?

Yeah, let us go ahead and have a chat about electability.

Shtuey of Taylor Marsh: Five or Twelve

April 26, 2008

Shtuey once again shows the brilliance that is a Marshian. So mature, so open, such a good Democrat and progressive:

And here are the results of the votes in my remaining polls:

WHAT WILL OBAMA WHINE ABOUT NEXT?

“I only bowled a 37 because the ball was too heavy.”
12 (15%)

“Michelle, I don’t wanna be the gimp anymore.”
6 (7%)

“For the last time, I didn’t give her the finger, I was telling her to go fuck herself! Now leave me alone!”
46 (59%)

“I won’t give any money to my impoverished African relatives! I won’t! I won’t! I won’t! (unless they openly advocate nuking Israel)
13 (16%)

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO JAM UP KEITH OLBERMAN’S ASS?

A bee’s nest
1 (0%)

A John Deere riding mower
0 (0%)

A cactus
3 (2%)

Barack Hussein Obama
44 (38%)

All of the above
67 (58%)

How does it feel Barack? Hillary beat Uncommitted in MI and you lost to All of the Above…you lose even in fiction. That’s just sad. 😥

No, actually, you know what is sad. That this fool even has a blog and thinks he/she is clever. Really, it’s so obvious that Shtuey is interested in what people actually have to say. Shtuey, you are a Clintonite and Marshian. You INVENTED whining.
So, the question. Is Shtuey five or twelve? I’m leaning toward five.

Don’t You Marshians Think About What You Are Saying?

April 26, 2008

Look, Joe, when you say things like what I link to below, you simply come across as completely hypocritical. WHY SHOULD OBAMA SUPPORTERS VOTE FOR CLINTON IF SHE ‘STEALS’ THE NOMINATION???? What makes you think that his supporters will come back to Clinton? Because African Americans, young people, activists, and other Obama supporters would never vote McCain? Okay..well, guess what. They can stay home too. And Hillary loses. And you whiny Marshians will blame Obama. It’s pathetic.
I’m contributing to the division. I know. But these folks silly comments need to be brought to light. They claim to be Democrats, to be progressives, and yet, they refuse to consider that people have valid reasons for their vote, that someone is NOT a ‘Judas’ for supporting Obama, and that EITHER Democrat is better than McCain.
Okay, here is Bazooka to the Brain Joe:

The DNC is making the fatal assumption (induced by too much Kool-aid) that we Hill supporters would toe the line once the Whiny Fraud is crowned in Denver. It never really crosses their mind that we would refuse to vote for the Precious in November.

A Marshian Criticizes ‘Fox Tactics.’ At last! Oh, wait.

April 26, 2008

DemocraticJack:

There is a concerted squeeze play being put on Hillary by the DNC crew and Rep. Clyburn. Clyburn is using Fox tactics to scare people by using the “some people say” garbage.

C’mon, you know what I am going to point out. Um, hey Jack? Have you visited this site? It’s full of people praising the use of Fox tactics against a Democrat, and even praise for folks like Hannity and O’Reilly! Oh, it’s so good to see Democrats decry this! Wait, you are a Marshian. Never mind.

Shtuey of Taylor Marsh: Elitist

April 26, 2008

Oh, horror of horrors, Shtuey admits he is an elitist. After all, if one does not vote for Hillary, one must be an ignorant stupid American.
For shame, Shtuey!

Average Jane; I am never amazed at the capacity for Americans to be stupid, I have come to accept it as a permanent condition…and they never cease to disappoint me

Another Marshian Whines

April 26, 2008

Lyn continues the trend of Clintonites whining that if their candidate doesn’t win, they will take their vote and go home or go Republican. Because, you know, that will show the party and the country.

I told the DNC that IF Obama is the Nom, and fla and Mi are Not counted, bnot only will I vote for McCain, but I will go down the ticket and if someone supported Hillary, they will get MY vote, if they backed Obama I will vote for the repub against them. I also told them many in my family will do the same and since we live in NJ this is one of the states Obama might lose, I will tell all my friends and family, that are so angry to do the same

I wish these folks would just go ahead and put the ‘W’ stickers on their cars now.
