Taylor Marsh Commenters Pop Quiz

So, Obama gave his speech today. And now, its time for the post quiz. Your task, dear students, is simple, and it’s multiple choice! There is only one question.

1. Which of the following quotes, a reaction to Obama’s speech, is from a traditional, right wing conservative and author of the much reviled (by the left, at least) The Bell Curve and NOT from Taylor Marsh’s commenters?
A. Obama and his wife are conflicted people. Obama sat in that church and listened to this hate filled preacher over and over talk about hating white America. He even nodded in the affirmative. Now he wants to be president to bring us all together. No other candidate could have split this party the way he has. This is Obama’s Hail Mary pass. Does Obama say God D**m America too?

B. Why in the world does anyone want this person to be president? He has did nothing but cause trouble ever since he started his race based campaign. Who in hell is voting for this party dividing creep anyway? Now after his old preacher has outed Obama for what he is how can anyone actually believe Obama shares the democratic party’s principals and values. He uses racial, criminal, and mysoginist sexual discrimination to achieve his political goals. The man is a down right dirty two-bit politician who shouldn’t be allowed to hold any public office.

C. I read the various posts here…mostly pretty ho-hum or critical about Obama’s speech. Then I figured I’d better read the text (I tried to find a video of it, but couldn’t). I’ve just finished. Has any other major American politician ever made a speech on race that comes even close to this one? As far as I’m concerned, it is just plain flat out brilliant—rhetorically, but also in capturing a lot of nuance about race in America. It is so far above the standard we’re used to from our pols…. But you know me. Starry-eyed Obama groupie.

D. Unfortuantely, Obama is toast. Why, in his 20 year friendship with Rev. Wright, didn’t he turn the Reverend around. Obama and his wife are the American Dream (and they are black). Calling them black is not a racist comment, it is just a fact. (Like Ferraro’s comments were just statements of fact.) What a great example Obama was for Rev. Wright. Why didn’t he speak to Rev. Wright as he has spoken to his coalition. Instead Obama sat there for 20 years and drank the kool-aid of Dr. Wright and turned himself into a hateful, spiteful, lying racist. Obama is a racist of the worse kind. He has taken full advantage of this country and turned to spit in its face.
Can you guess which one was posted by a conservative at The Corner, that hotbed of Obama support and embracing anti-racism?? If you guessed C, you win! Yay!
The rest? They are from commenters at Taylor Marsh. Open minded, understanding, and sane Democrats, the whole lot of them.
What a bunch of a-holes. Here’s someone who is most definitely NOT an a-hole.

  1. Robster Says:

It’s not the commenters who have this view. The bigots who support McCain are like that, too. That’s why they need to move on over to the GOP.

BTW, I re-registered as a Democrat yesterday and Barack made me feel proud to be an American.

    ¡Viva Obama!

  2. Robster Says:

I meant it’s not just the commenters who share this view. Whoops!
